The Story
Through the Coastal Fjord Cliffs was inspired by my trips to Alaska’s coastal fjords on Kenai Fjords boat tours.
Traveling by boat through this landscape gives you a perspective that's difficult to experience from land. Steep cliffs rise directly from the water, mountains layer into the distance, and trees seem to find impossible places to grow along the rocky shoreline.
I created this watercolor to capture the feeling of moving through those coastal passages—surrounded by blue water, rugged cliffs, and the immense scale of Alaska's mountains.
These experiences on the water continue to inspire my work and my fascination with the places where mountains, water, movement, and wilderness come together.
Through the Coastal Fjord Cliffs is a one-of-a-kind original watercolor, signed by the artist and presented matted as shown.
